About Us
Edo Connect in Ontario
Edo Connect in Ontario (EDCO) is a community-based, non-profit association established to unite and empower all Edo indigenes residing in Ontario, beginning with the London region. Our goal is to create a strong, supportive, and resourceful network that fosters personal growth, professional advancement, and cultural preservation among members of the Edo community.
Objectives and Areas of Focus
Community Building and Networking
- Promote unity, mentorship, and mutual growth within the community.
- Create a unified platform for Edo professionals, families, and students in
Ontario to connect, collaborate, and share resources.
Settlement and Integration Support
- Offer guidance on housing, healthcare, education, and community services.
- Provide settlement assistance to new immigrants from Edo State, helping
them adjust to life in Canada.
Employment and Professional Development
- Organize professional training, workshops, and skill development programs
to help members build successful careers in Canada.

Education and Cultural Preservation
- Promote the teaching and learning of the Edo language and culture among our children and youth. - Organize cultural events, language classes, and heritage programs to preserve our identity and values.
Social Support and Welfare
- Establish and manage community welfare initiatives such as a food bank for
members in need.
- Provide peer and emotional support for families facing challenges, including
guidance on navigating social services.
Legal and Government Liaison
- Serve as a liaison between Edo indigenes and government agencies,
including Children’s Aid, settlement services, and legal support networks.
- Provide information and referrals for members dealing with legal,
immigration, or social welfare matters.
Community Outreach and Advocacy
- Advocate for the welfare and representation of Edo indigenes within Ontario’s
multicultural landscape.
- Build partnerships with other community organizations, local government,
and non-profit institutions to enhance opportunities for our members.
